I am racing a mile on July 31st, so I wanted to get a pretty hard effort in today to try to get a sense of my shape for the mile. Definitely hard for me to figure out how much of an effect altitude is having because I would normally expect to be easily in 5:05-5:10 shape by this point in my training cycle, but this workout points to 5:16.6. Definitely had more physically in me today, but mentally this was about as hard as I could push myself running solo.

I think I will plan to go out conservatively in 79-80 and 2:38-2:40 and cut down if I have anything more in me at that point.
