Notes

I run the hills again putting a lot of effort. My body at times feels tired and I had to push but at the same time felt strong with my breathing be very reasonable and no hamstring probs. So even feeling tired was not enough to stop me going for it. I run easy for first couple of miles and then gradually increased speed going with the body and feeling rather than mind. I noticed I was doing a reasonable strong/faster pace for this course (being hilly and very much up and down). Then I felt good and going up the 2 mile long hill I managed to maintain speed comfortably which surprised me a bit. I thought this is the speed I would want to run my first 10 miles of the marathon. I felt good inside as this course is not flat and so I was in an advantageous position doing an approx. 9 min mile or maybe 8:50 min mile. So, this encouraged me and I felt emotionally ready for more and then I run the last 3 miles pretty fast and hard but again in a controlled pace. I must have been running close to an 8:40 min mile which made up for my overall time. This run initially was meant to be an easy 10 miler but it was another tough run. Now tomorrow I am vowing to do an easy run prior to the Thurs speedy workout with the Club. It has been all good and I am delighted but also feeling relaxed and physically tired. What a lovely feeling!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My splits:- 9:39, 9:27, 9:12, 9:02, 9:38, 9:23, 8:57, 8:43, 8:30, 8:19.
