Notes

Today I run exactly a mile for every hour that I slept tonight. 10 hours sleep should not go to waist. Sleep is so important to me. The Garmin worked fine all the way. I refused to take a look at my pace per mile as I wanted to have an easy longer run. I knew by body effort though that I was a lot more faster on my feet naturally for second half of the course. I was very much by myself on the Dumfries Half Marathon course. It is pretty wild and quiet out there. I like that but there was a silver car going back and fouth logging the miles by me and I did not like that. At some point I decided to return same way and not progress the run further away from the Town. I knew that Franc was getting ready to leave for his Show too and wanted to touch base with home.

The run was relatively O.K. But, the Toe Joint gave me a hard time from the beginning. I know now that each time I get out there to run I take a risk. I am not sure for how long the joint will take this. I worry in a way because it has become more rigid and the pain is more frequent & intense. For first 5 miles the toe joint pain was always present. It then let go a bit. It does like running in the end like me.

From mile 6 to 9 I felt great but for last mile although I felt strong my foot seemed to have had enough. I think 10 miles is my limit but I know that I will progressively have to compromise the distance.

As soon as I arrived home Frankie had gone to work. I switched off Garmin and normally do, I took my shower right away and now Garmin is completely 'dead'. It will not start or give the usual bleep sound or connect to the computer. This is really annoying and I am used to it so much. This never happened before so I may have to go without for a while. Back to my primitive way of running. I do not think I can survive without my Garmin. Anyway I did notice that as I was arriving home it was logging 01:42:+ for the 10. Hopefully I will be able to 'revive' it.

Now, thanks to expert technology Frankie Garmin is up and going again. -:)
