Notes
This was supposed to be a 4 x 1200 VO2 max interval workout on the belt, but when I saw the temperature of 30 degrees that went out the window and I headed over to the park for a chance to run outside!
I intended to do 4 x 1 mile at tempo pace, but once on the path realized there was a thin layer of ice that made true tempo pace completely impractical.
I probably should have just run easy once I saw the conditions, but thought I would give it a shot and once I did I just decided to go with it. Coming in some 20 seconds per mile slower than my target pace however, that was probably not a good idea!
I did my best but was basically reduced to tip-toeing through the interval portions of the run. As a result, I ended up doing only 3 of the 4.
Still, the intervals felt like tempo pace and the fact that the splits were so identical (6:45, 6:44, 6:45) makes me think the effort was there, but that is probably wishful thinking.
Fuck.
Oh well, it was nice to run outside on a weekday.
