Notes

Despite my sincerest efforts the past year, my left glute continues to be a literal pain in my ass.

While it has never really prevented me from running, this latest episode actually began two running two weeks ago, with slight but pronounced tightness that usually worked itself free once warmed up. Oh yeah? Well that tightness exploded into unbearable pain after my pace ladder workout at the track Tuesday, to the point where I had a noticeable limp the rest of the day.

Coincidence? Probably not.

I am unsure which of the four paces I ran exacerbated it (marathon, 5k, 10k or mile), but the writing is on the wall that I will have to sit out yet another Red Letter race this year, tomorrow's Firecracker Mile. My third DNS of the year. :'-(

I took a rest day yesterday and although it woke-up after mile 3 during today's run, it was okay for the most part.

Aside from that my running has never felt better, giving me a sliver of hope that I can still somehow salvage this season.

Moving forward, it is unfortunate that I no longer have my most trusted ally and trained eye to help diagnose my plethora of issues, but I resolve to figure this out and reestablish my running base, which up until April 4 was solid.
