By last year's results, everyone ran around 18:00 minutes. Being my first duathlon, I wanted to pace myself carefully and run this 5k as if I was doing a full 10K. The first turn was poorly marked so I followed Enright and this guy who looked like Ivan Drago past the turn. The guys behind me yelled and I was pretty confused because I never saw the arrow turning us right and they didn't have a volunteer at the turn. We got back on track and lost about 20 or 25 seconds on the lead group. I eventually got back into 4th place, just even with the guy in 3rd. I was pretty conservative on the first part and concentrated and just getting a rhythm and staying relaxed before the bike.
