1600 A flight at geneseo invite. it was dark out at this point and the wind was a nonfactor. i was feeling good before this race, but i didnt really want to go out and have to make myself grind to run fast so i decided to go out slower and run a tactical race. it ended up being the most fun and exciting race besides my 9:16. i went out in 66 and then like a 68 or 69 and then i went through the 1200 in 3:25 and closed in a 61. there were a lot of people right behind me the whole race and on lap 3 thorpe almost took the lead on the backstretch, but i held him off right before the turn and took the sole lead again. when i hit the bell they were all right behind me. with 100 left a metemora kid was catching me so i finally went into my last gear and dusted everyone. i ended up pacing like 3 people to 5 second PR's and thorpe faded back to 4th. apparently he was having foot problems(bad blisters). whatever his problem was, he got raped in both races and if he's my best competeiton in 2A, then state should be interesting
