beautiful weather and a big and solid group starting out from school. headed out to herrick like normal with an arrowhead loop. it was me, steve, ethan, and nolan until we got to washington and then the other guys surged to catch up. nolan kept surging up every tiny incline but everyone kept calling so the pace was down very quickly. my hip/hammy was still feeling a bit tight so i stayed at the back of the group but it was cool to have most of our top group rolling. after we left herrick i was starting to feel a little better but we were still in a big pack and i was at the back. when we crossed the street, a few guys turned off for 90 so the group was smaller. by this point i actually started to feel pretty smooth so i took over the pace. went like 530 and 528 for the two miles preceding the hill and by the time i hit the hill i was already ahead of everyone. hit the hill pretty hard and then waited for everyone to regroup. post hill i had planned on just chilling since my leg has been tight and the first 10ish or so were basically an extended tempo. nolan took off right away though and most of the guys somewhat called. it felt easy but the pace i ended up running was like low 550s post hill. mainly with jasper, we moved up through the guys throughout the next several miles slowly dropping from low 550s to low-mid 540s but still feeling pretty easy. by the time we were back on the riverwalk i was starting to feel a bit tired so after coming out of the wooded riverwalk area i hit the chill button (right around 16.75) and i basically cooled down the last 1+miles. overall it was a pretty solid long run. got some good tempo in, solid hill, and working on feeling smooth/keeping strong form. watch only had me 17.53 so rough splits throughout were 710, 627, 623, 551, 551, 546, 531, 528, 612, 555, 552, 550, 551, 540, 545, 224 from 16 to 16.75(obviously the accumulation of the previous miles would add on to this), then 638, and 46 seconds on the end
