"taper" before race? More like just finally getting some run after resting few days.

Right Achilles did "pull" quite badly, and overall wooden feel everywhere. After workout I did 2x5 of Achilles exercise on both legs (the one "going slowly down on single foot over stair"), looks like it did either help, or not hurt, because next day was a bit better.
