Notes

First deep snow run this season... unfortunately the race one, and long one, so tendons around knees cried in finish, as they are now not used to the shaky gait on slippery surface. 4h later it feels ok already, so hopefully they are not overstrained. Right Achilles not very happy either, but better than yesterday, in worse conditions, so overall looks fine. The surface was somewhat more tricky than 2 years ago, in some parts it was easier to push the pace, but in some areas the fresh snow was very slippery, forcing me to walk cautiously (it did start to snow seriously just 1.5h before race start, but at the hill there was already lot of snow and only rarely the mud under was visible, even after ~100 runners ahead of me). Especially the last downhill on asphalt was like ice for my shoes, impossible to run. Even walking was difficult enough. I did walk again most of the hill climbs, very few I could run this time, not sure if I seriously improved in those 2 years, although the final time is 6min better, and IIRC the downhills were slower this time (well, either slower because I had to walk, or probably faster, because I didn't have to run inside water this year).

After first quarter in heavy snowing there was some mist and lack of sun, so no nice sight from the top of the hill, but during last quarter the sun came out finally, and I got a truly kitsch view of forest under clean white snow with happy sunshine going trough it. Unfortunately at that point the path was really bad stone/mud/steps puzzle requiring my full attention.

No fall on ground this year. And the refreshment station had still the warm tea. Also in finish area I met Kvitek, finally realising he did ran the race (and won of course :D ), so we had some small nice chat.

Till half of race I was quite unsure if it was even worth to wake up early, travel 2h, and then just slide a lot instead of proper run, but the sunshine, feel of accomplishment and chat with Vitek and old Honza made it in the end very enjoyable merry experience.
