Last official practice for a little while with the imminent coronavirus lockdown looms. 40 minutes easy into 4x 8' on-2' off then cool down to 15 miles. Our group of 4 splintered quickly halfway through the 2nd push. Willie and I worked well together from that point. Neither of us was feeling great but it was clear we were in a place to work hard this morning. Most of the 2nd surge was a gradual uphill and I was really feeling it by the end but I'm glad I stuck with Willie through that. The second half of the surges were more balanced in terms of the incline/decline. I was really surprised with how fast we got going at the end, I was afraid 5:30's was feeling much harder than it usually does. Rep 1: 1.47 miles (5:27 pace, 5:30 split), rep 2: 1.47 miles (5:27 pace, 5:22 split), rep 3: 1.52 miles (5:16 pace, 5:16 split), rep 4: 1.55 miles (5:10 pace, 5:10 split). My strength is coming along just a few weeks following the Trials. I was dragging ass for the first couple of miles, still feeling the hill work on Friday, so this long run surpassed my expectations!
