Standard taper week workout, 4 days out from the race. 2 mile w/5'+Mile w/3'+2x800 w/2'. Wow, the weather was not ideal for it, 70 degrees w/ 70 DP and 95% humidity. I was dripping sweat part way through the warmup but I wanted to knock out one last good one. started out with a 5:10.9 and picked it up slightly int he second half to run 5:06.0 (10:16.9). Johnny wanted it to be MP so maybe I was a tad aggressive. He said to take as much rest as I needed and I feel like the 5' was plenty before the mile. Felt better going for the mile and actually had to pull back a bit halfway in; ran 4:52.8. The workout was flying by and the 800s felt like long strides, for the most part, probably b/c they were short enough that the heat didn't take as much of toll on me. 2:21.9, 2:20.0.
