Notes

6x mile w/3:30 rest. Pretty windy today but getting much worse later in the day. 8-9 mph cross wind out of the west, and 31 degrees on the windchill. Goal was to get around 10k pace and get back into a few hard workouts before tapering off for the US Champs. First one felt like I was floating but that was because I ran the first half in 5:10 pace. Picked it up and managed a 5:02.9. The next was a slight drop to 5:00.2. The wind was rough but it wasn’t fighting against me so much as pushing me sideways. 4:54.0 for the third and it felt much better than the first two. Achilles was getting a little stiff in between because of how long the rest was and how cold it was. #4 was 4:52 and I noticed I was recovering pretty quickly after each rep, felt ready to go again around the 2’ Mark each time. Hit a good one in 4:49 for 5 and closed well after a slow start on #6 to get 4:44. Paces weren’t crazy but we’re definitely faster than I had been running. Hopefully this type of workout will help get me a cushion so 5:00 doesn’t feel too awful in a Half.

Glad you were able to cut down well. I wasn't quite sure what paces to give on this after a tougher 3.5/10 mile/3.5 workout. But by yourself you stayed tough and ran the last few well. Also just a quick glance at the HR data your HR was lower for your last 2 intervals than the first and 4th.
