4x400 w/200 jog; 3'; 4 mile tempo w/4' rest+4x400 w/200 jog. Felt like a nice winter day this morning. it was 25 degrees feel when I started, probably closer to 35 by the time I finished, but the wind only was around 8mph (crosswind). a far cry from the 25 mph, 50 mph gusting of yesterday. started off conservatively for the first set of 400's and built in. 70.3/68.8/67.7/65.9. the real triumph of today's workout was in the 4 mile tempo. To prevent myself from becoming too pace conscious I ran clockwise in lane 8 and focused on just running strong instead of aiming for lap splits. ran an incredibly consistent first 3 mile and knocked it down the last one when I was feeling great. 4:54.9/4:55.2/4:54.7/4:47.9 (19:33.0). wasn't completely gassed after the tempo, took maybe 2-3 min before I was back to feeling fine but took the full 4 min johnny offered. when I hopped back to the 400's to finish it off I was definitely feeling tired. not a lot of explosiveness but I was carrying my form well and not rigging. great to run as fast as I did throughout the workout! 64.2/63.8/63.9/63.5
