5k/10k/5k w/ 3 &4' rest; 5k @ HP, 10k @ MP. Was not super excited going in, just a little hesitant since the long run last week hadn't seemed to be completely flushed from my system yet. took my sweet time with the warm-up and once I finally built up the mental strength to start I found myself cruising easily at 5:10 pace. it was great to be running under 5:10 and not pressing for the entire 5k. the only downside was that the wooded portion of my loop at Mohawk was flooded so I completely soaked my shoes after the 2 mile. 5:08/5:05/5:09 (15:53). the 3 minutes after were plenty and I was off again, only running the larger perimeter loop. at times I was clipping along a little too quick though it didn't feel like it, would have rather ran 5:20's than 5:15's. 5:14/5:12/5:14/5:16/5:10/5:13 (32:20) Still hard to control, sadly, so I just focused on the effort. after the 10k I was feeling alright and wanted to just run slightly faster for the second 5k to end on a high note. 5:09/5:03/5:06 (15:47) cruised most of the way, of course with concentration, but it was very manageable. not something I could say a month ago.
