10x200 @30-32 w/3' rest, 5' rest, 300m hard. Since work is keeping me from racing tomorrow I had a speed day on the track. The first couple of 200s were nice and smooth and even as the workout went on they never got very hard. I was right in the range and since my quads have calmed down it was quite enjoyable. I took my extra rest after the last one and mentally prepared to roll a 300. I took off and I could hear Richey shouting "stop!" from the other side of the track. He wanted me to go from a standing start. I stood still on the line for a moment and took off with a few hard strides. I could feel an immediate anaerobic debt due to the anxiety of a hard start so I tried to settle in on the opening 100m. I hit the curve and began to accelerate again. I came through 200 in 26.8 and tried to keep my foot on the gas as the finish line approached. I was gasping for air and my stride became tight as I fought my way through the final 50m. Finished in 41.8 on Richey's watch. Happy to just let one go and I'm in a good headspace to tackle the faster running. Here's to hoping my quads don't want to rebel again afterwards.
