Notes

2 sets of 8x300 w/100 jog, 500 jog between sets. During the warm Up I felt like I could not get going and with the shorter volume of work I thought a longer warm up would help me feel more prepared. In short, it did not, but at least I could cool down less. I dreaded the start but tried to focus on doing one rep at a time and the first set was over relatively quickly, not that it felt that good though. 53.1, 51.9, 51.6, 50.9, 51.1, 51.0, 51.3, 50.3 (51.4 average). I took the lap plus jog but still was not in the right headspace going into the second set. I wasn’t feeling as easy and relaxed as I thought it should and that was building some negative thoughts. 51.1, 49.8, 49.9, 49.9, 49.6, 50.5, 50.1, 49.1 (50.0 average). My breathing was hard and my legs didn’t have any pop but I successfully ran quicker on the second set. Glad to get the work in and I know that this type of training may not be big or sexy but it’s important if I am going to get back any of that speed from my youth. I was going through the 200 in 33-34 on every rep (but one) so looking at that I know I’m ahead of where I was just a couple weeks ago when it comes to turnover.
