Notes

It snowed about 2 inches overnight, but it was still coming down when I went to run. The sidewalks I ran on were completely untouched; not that that should be surprising for a 6 am run in a winter storm. the wind howled for the first couple miles as I trudged through the soft but slick snow. The snow was blowing horizontally in the strong 16 mph wind; which also made the real feel 7 degrees. I finally got my back to it when I got to City Park. Other than the consistently inconsistent footing I have suffered through much worse conditions. I did 2 laps around Trueblood and the open space allowed the wind to blow at full strength, up to 30 mph gusts, but the silver lining was that the snow that was most affected by the wind was the crunchy stuff that is easier to run on. Eventually had to go back on Mormon Trek and the 4 main climbs were like running on ski slopes. I tried my best to not slip too much but the aggressive inclines were quite challenging in ever deepening snow.
