Time on Feet long run taking me into a new realm of long run distance. Never knew there was such a thing as over-distance training for the marathon. Started out at 5:15 AM which required a 4 AM wake up to get out to Zink. Best temp in Tulsa in months! Even though it was 92% humidity, the dew point was 65 and the air temp was a nearly chilly 64 It was pitch black as I went down the paved portion of Rock School Rd. I couldn't see more than the 30 ft my headlamp allowed. I wanted to be done with the initial 10 before the kids rolled in because people drive. recklessly down the road. Got into a nice easy rhythm, because I couldn't see ahead of me it felt like I was on a treadmill. Had to hop over a big brown-patterned snake on the shoulder on my way back otherwise all the wildlife stayed on the other side of the pasture fences. I could hear packs of coyotes every now and then that freaked me out. finally had the company of the boys when I climbed back up Wildcat Hill. The wind was in our face the whole way out but that at least gave us the hope of a late tailwind if we could endure it. I had to poo really bad at 16 so hopped a fence and had to use leaves as toilet paper as a small box turtle watch my transgressions 3 ft away. picked up the pace to catch up. at 22 I was starting to feel heavy legs setting in but the boys werent pulling away. Peter, Breaux, Ben, Reed and Bryan were great support late in the run. They werent going slow, but they made an effort to make sure I stayed close. I started to get dilerious at about 24 and that almost blocked some pain as I playfully would surge in response to one of the guys smart-ass comments. Ben Peter and I dropped the other 3 off at the cars and did 2 miles more. Marathon split was 2:51:48. legs were suffering hard on the rolling hills overall but the last climb as we went out for the add on was brutal. I got to the point mentally where I had come so far, it became, "whats another couple minutes," or " whats another half mile." I finished the last couple strong than I would have thought, give the lagging middle miles. No fuel during the run, though I crushed some super juice afterwards.

Wow. What a run. That is a ton of miles. I was sure I would run the most miles this last week with a 100 mile race.
