Broken Tempo on Riverside, 18'/15'/12' w/5' easy jog between. No paces were given before this one but I was hoping to go somewhere around 5:10/5:05/5:00 respectively. It was frigid this morning, 8 degree windchill when I started, but might have got to 14 by the end. Still had to bundle up to try to keep my legs warm and prevent injury. Felt a little flat at the beginning of the 18' but figured I'd work into the rhythm and naturally pick it up. that never really came. I was almost pressing to run under 5:20 for the second half, though in hindsight it may have just been mismanaged expectations. took my jog and got to where I wanted to be for the 15'. the 12' was the real kick in the balls, because I wanted to finish strong but was feeling shitty so i was flip flopping. after a sub-5 first mile I wanted to keep that ball rolling but just wasnt happening. 18' 3.4 miles (5:19/5:18/5:18/.4-2:02), 15' 2.97 miles (5:02/5:04/.97-4:52), 12' 2.4 miles (4:58/5:02/.4-1:58). Got the work in this morning and I'm proud of that, just was hoping to have a better quality run.
