Cardinal classic @ncc, 4th. Achilles actually wasn't feeling too bad during the day probably in part because I didn't run until the warm up. Once I tried doing strides I could feel my Achilles starting to burn. I still wanted to run since I made the trip but knew I wasn't going to be near fast so I pulled druvil Patel aside and told him if he wanted I could pace him for the NCC freshmen record (8:38.00). Took things nice and conservative from the gun and was hitting 69s consistently for druvil. Went through the mile in 4:35-36 so we were good pace wise. I started moving around a few of the park side kids to keep us from getting stuck and slowing down. With 800 to go this Fat Lewis kid passed me and cut me off all while slowing down which pissed me off so I didn't change my stride which led to me clipping him a few times before finally attempting to trip him. The true asshole came out in me after he stumbled I threw a full extension punch to his back which I tried hard to make look like it was just me putting my hand out. Druvil and I went around him soon after and as we came to the 400 to go it was going to be close for the record. He needed to run 66 for the last 400 so I tried my best to encourage him. I let him pass hoping that the feeling of passing someone would give him a boost. He ended up missing the record by .31 seconds. Once he went by me I just kind of maintained and mental disengaged
