"the Michigan," 2k/1600/1200/800/400 w/ mile tempo between (~40 sec jog between interval and tempo portion). May have left a little too much on the track yesterday pacing the ladies, from the start of the 2k felt flat. opened in a 77-78 and I was like "aw hell." salvaged a bit and got to the mile in 5:02-03 but finished in a pedestrian 6:17.3. on the tempos I could def tell I would get back under my threshold because 5:15 was pretty manageable. 5:14. Tried to push back on the mile but with a slow second 400 my momentum was shot, still managed a 4:51.6. 5:13 for the next tempo mile. I wanted the 1200 to get under 3:36 (72 avg.) and opened in 71 but the same story, settled in too much with a 73 and came back with another 71 for 3:35.7. Tempo mile 5:14. 800 seemed to be the last big obstacle. 2:20 was the barrier I wanted to break and I was good through a lap (69) but struggled home to 2:19.7. 5:15 tempo mile with a slower start. finally came the 400 and I just wanted it to be over but told myself I had to be aggressive and run hard on tired legs. 32 through 200 wasn't good enough. even split to 64.2. Honestly, it wasn't as bad of a workout as I make it out to be, I got good volume and still am learning to run quicker again.
