Notes

8-10 miles of 1-2-3-2-1 w/ = float rec. I wasn't feeling too bad at the start of this one. I was attached to Parker, Elias, and Aaron for the first couple of reps, and while I was pressing to maintain the pace we were moving fast and that's what I really need in my training right now. I was right with them until we started the second 2-minute piece along the last part of Cherryvale. It came on suddenly but the same fucking side stitch I dealt with at Marshall the other week came back. I went from running 4:30 pace for the first half to completely folding in the last minute. I tried to take a slow jog to see if it would help and quickly concluded this was going to be a fairly permanent condition for the workout. I flipped around and ran back on Baseline and feebly attempted to do another 1 minute pick up but the screaming stitch was relentless and I hobbled through. I knew the morning was over the minute the cramp came on but I was so far from the parking lot that I figured I'd do something rather than jog. So here you go, my nonsensical splits from the workout: 4:39/6:03, 4:49/5:58, 4:43/5:57, 5:20/7:34, 5:42/7:16, 5:59/7:28. I finished that 2 minute jog back at the track to talk with Richey. Hopefully, I can get in for some treatment with someone this week to address the issue. However, in the meantime, I am left despondent and frustrated. I am really questioning my ability t be a competitive athlete anymore if I cramp up at the slightest hint of intensity. I might as well be an ultra-runner at this point.
