(75, 77 feel, 60 dp, NW4) 7-6-5-4-3-2-1 Fartlek w/half rep recovery. I went out to Illinois’ campus to workout on the Club Loop since it has the least amount of traffic in town. The first part of the loop had been torn up and had a half mile stretch of poorly graded asphalt rubble but the rest of the rep was just as I remember. The 7-6 min portions were what I thought would be the worse but it was really 5-4. 6 and 5 were mostly on the gradual inclines of the loops and I had to focus on my mechanic to keep the pace from slipping. I was right on 5:00 pace for the most part and no slower than 5:10. I was working hard but I was also feeling strong, the pace was challenging for sure but I didn’t feel like I was over extending. I think I could’ve run 8 miles flat in the 42:00 if I had kept the recovery pace closer to 6:00. Still a very solid workout this morning and took full advantage of the weather.
