tester fartlek to see what my shin can tolerate, and I feel like I needed a bit of intensity after taking the last 10 days pretty easy. 3x3' w/3'+3x2' w/2'+3x1' w/1'. I didn't look at my watch for the first rep because I was afraid it was going to tell me I was running slow. Exceeded my expectations and ran 5:02, 4:55, 4:50 pace with the recovery being 7:00 pace. I almost bit off the first 2' too hard but I settled into a comfortably hard cadence. 4:43, 4:53, 4:54. The humidity was rough to handle late into the workout as it was slowly choking me. 4:49, 4:49, 4:47 for the shortest intervals. My shin was, at worse, tight and only so often would be slightly uncomfortably painful. I will have to wait and see how things feel a few hours after this workout to see how much work I can handle for the next few weeks.
