12x hill circuits. its been a while since i've done any dedicated hill work. stood around at practice this morning for 2 hours before starting the workout and it wouldnt have been that bad if it wasnt so darn chilly. took a while to thaw on the warm up. did the same hills as last time, and the goal was to push it two more reps (and not stop for any wind-sucking breaks at the top of reps late int he workout). First couple went well, after a slower start, 1:27, 1:23, 1:24, 1:24, 1:24, 1:25 (marks roughly .27 to the top). I was pushing it but not sprinting by any means. Gradually the bear came out of the woods and jumped on my back and the inital climb got more and more taxing. I worked on mantaining my mechanics and not just trying to thrash my way to the top, but it was certainly slowing down. 1:26, 1:26, 1:27, 1:27. Got to the last two reps and I was in markedly better shape than my first attempt at this one, i hadn't stopped yet and even though i was slowing down, i wasnt letting it slide far. 1:26, 1:25 for my last two reps so i rallied back some and finished strong.
