5x1000m + cooldown

Originally the boys had 10x(1min on/2min off), but because of the weather, practice was cancelled. It was assumed everyone would still do the workout, but they were free to do it on their own time. I announced that I would still run it on the track, and anyone who wanted to join would be welcome. The top 4 plus another varsity guy ended up joining me. After the warmup and drills though, I told them they could choose between 3x(4x400m, 200m jog between reps, 400m jog between sets), 6x800m/3 min rest, or 5x1000m/3min rest. They went with the repeat Ks which I was happy they chose. Wanted them to not be too daunted by it though so I said we would keep it at threshold (3:30ish). First one was a 3:19. After that, they said that although the first 400m felt a bit rough, the rep overall felt pretty strong and that they were fine maintaining it. The pack stayed very close, and they absolutely killed it compared to what they had been doing before.

Decent workout for myself too considering that I did my first 2 hours since mid July yesterday, but I know that I'm reeaally gonna feel it tomorrow now I'm sure.
