Christie Clinic Marathon this morning, got fourth overall and won the age group since they give money to top three. Great first marathon experience, I just really wanted this to not suck a lot. I wanted it to be enjoyable so that when I run Chicago, whenever that is, I'll train knowing the last one was a fun marathon. I surprised myself a bit, I didn't think I'd run sub 2:35, but I just really felt solid. At like 10 miles I started thinking I'd have to poop at some point, but every time I had to fart I would just fight to hold it all in. So glad I didn't end up having to stop at a porta potty. Took water and a GU at every opportunity. I think that really helped a lot. After the half broke off, I was by myself all the way until about 23. I steadily reeled in the dude that got fifth and caught him with less than a mile left. Got by him, he passed me back, and then I put him away.
