Finally a good tempo run! I wanted to give this workout another go. Last week after talking to Brian, he suggested just completing the workout, even if I was slow and felt like crap. So I resolved to finish no matter what. This turned out to be my best feeling tempo workout to date.

1st rep I was very surprised by the 5:40 pace. I had been at 5:50 for each of the previous attempts. Idk what I did differently but this felt the same. 2nd rep, I had an idea to focus on the pace being "comfortably hard". I think this really helped me to stay relaxed and stave off fatigue. I imagined being able to run this pace all day. I think it really helped offset thoughts of how fatiguing this felt. With the 2nd rep done and still feeling decent, I did not care what my 3rd rep was as I knew I'd still finish fine. Turns out I didn't fall off much at all. Still focused on being comfortable most of the time, with a little more of a grind the last half mile.

Really happy with this workout and excited for the next ones. I think I have also set a precedent for getting into a positive headspace pre-workout. I wanted to crush this workout and I did. I still have a long long road to go but I'm getting the steam going.
