Tempos are hard. Felt really sore during the warmup for some reason and felt better once I got going. The first mile was terrible because I ran on this sidewalk path thing which turned out to be super dark. Very hard to see and have good footing. Jumped out onto the road after a bit and that was better. 2nd mile was strong but I was really fading into the 3rd. This was supposed to be a 40 minute tempo (lol) but when I started fading I decided 2.5 out, 2.5 back would be adequate. Stopped at 2.5, took a 2 minute break and started back. Felt slow to start but my watch didn't think so, 5:33 avg for first half mile. That last section of the Pennichuck loop really is fast. Felt good through the second mile and had enough left to finish the loop. Good push at the end.

I think I am still having the problem where I have a hard time getting up to speed and maintaining. Like I have a governor set. It is also weird that I can run a 5 mile, uninterrupted, cross country course and run 15 seconds a mile faster. But just gotta stick with the workouts, keep the momentum going, and I'll see improvements.
