Notes
I helped out with the Pack Monadnock race today. We set up signs and cones before the start of the race, and had a good bit of time to kill while the race was going on. I decided I'd get my run done during this time. I hopped on the course from the first water stop and ran most of the rest of the race as my run. Pretty fun being kinda-sorta part of a race. Course wasn't too too bad, at least at the pace I was running and for skipping the first 3 miles. Lots of plateaus and rollings with some good sized hills thrown in there. I'm sure glad I didn't do the whole last section up to the top of Pack. I only went a quarter of the way up, to the 9 mile mark, and turned around. That was quite steep, way different from the rest of the course.
I think I'll do this race next year. Seems fun and everyone's telling me I should try. I certainly had a fun day volunteering. These are the sorts of days I really enjoy as a runner.
