I decided to do my long run today because of the hike tomorrow. Solo long run. Gave myself the options of going 13, 14, or 15 miles. I waited to see how I felt in the later portion of the run. Warmed up into it and about 4-5 miles in I was feeling pretty good. At 8 and 9 miles I was thinking of doing the full 15, but I noticed my past few miles were kinda slow and thought it'd be better to do the middle option. Slow pace continued but I think I was able to up the effort on the uphills. But then about a mile from my house a cramp hit hard and fast. Had to walk for a few meters, then tried running again, then decided to walk for a full 90 seconds or so. After starting up again I felt alright and could make it back to the house. Almost got to 14 but I wasn't gonna keep running for the extra 0.15 with the imminent nature of that cramp. Still a good long run overall and longer than last week. Next week will be sorta tough for a real long run with the race on Sunday, will probably double that day instead. We'll see how the week progresses as far as mileage.
