Notes

Today was worse than yesterday. Started at a 3/10, and only went down to a 2/10. Overall the calf / achilles felt quite fatigued. I think that was my general sense. It felt like my heel may have been hitting the ground on my left foot; as in, my calf wasn't able to support my foot with each landing. Idk if I was just imagining it because I was more aware of pain today and therefore aware of everything else. Not sure.

And today I did do a different run than normal, I went up my hill to start and then down. Idk if that contributed. And also, after yesterday's PT session it was particularly sore. And that PT session was soon after the day's run and my first set of PT exercises, so it was a lot at one time for the achilles. Maybe it'll just be more aggravated for today, and be better tomorrow. Tomorrow I plan on lifting in the morning, so my running will be only with the kids. So less stress on it tomorrow too.

After today's run I tried some Lydiard hill running. There's a couple different variations and today I did "steep hill running". Running stride with very little forward motion, and emphasis on raising knee and straightening back leg on pushoff. Going to try this today with the team. Planning on some sort of hill work once per week. Hoping to incorporate this with my own running soon enough too.
