Notes

Early morning long run and thankfully, woke up feeling well rested, to a sunny day (albeit a bit cold) and feeling much more like myself. Mitch had wanted to go 14 and I decided last night I was going to do 20ish so ran from my place over to his place to pick him up. Super nice out and legs felt good, bit tedious since I ran down Naperville Road with no sidewalk into traffic but after that it was fine. Picked him up and went and out and back 10 mile route into Woodridge keeping the pace pretty chill all the way throughout and just chatting about running and future races. Gued up around 12 but not sure if I really needed it today. Route is decently rolling but wasn't bad. Nip started to chafe so lost the shirt and dropped it by Mitch's place before heading back towards home. He peeled off around when I hit 15 and I was solo the rest of the way, gradually dropped into the 620s then 6:00s before closing the last mile and a half around 5:50 pace. Legs felt REAL easy until about 16.5 where started to get a bit of tightness but wasn't bad at all, wasn't like I had to muscle it out or anything. Honestly, was just a really therapeutic run mentally and physically. Got in a solid 21 at a comfortable enough pace, weather was super nice and enjoyable and just felt much more like myself. Happy to be able to get an effort in like this and turn what had been a struggle of a week to something decent.
