My first trail race and a not so difficult course. Only one steep hill, but hit it twice on the out and back course. Nice surprise as first in age group! Nice North Face gear giveaways.
Ran first 5-6 miles comfortably. Picked up pace a little from there gradually through remainder of the race. Passed lots of runners in those miles and only one passed me. He finished about 50 yards ahead of me, though I had closed to just a few feet with a mile to go. Dean Karnazes gave awards and said I had too much spring in my step cause I hopped up onto the platform for my award.
