Knight Invite. Solid race to start this season off. Times ended up being a little slower than usual today as I finished 14th with this time which normally does not happen. Course was a little soft and just not as much competition probably contributed to the slower times. Got out well with Nathaniel, Philly, Tyler, Plantinga and Caleb. We were together through most of the first 4k. Then it became Nathaniel, Philly, Tyler and I. We stayed together until 6k when Philly took off which he should of because he was just guiding our pack for the first 5k. Ended up battling with this Davenport guy the last Kilometer, but finished strong and right behind Nathaniel. We cleaned up going 1-2-4-5-8-10-13-14-16-21-22 in the race. Team worked well together today and we had a lot of people run well because of it. Not a crazy fast time, but a very solid effort. Just a really fun day in general! No idea of splits, I thought I heard 10:20 at 2 miles, but that was it
Best moment of the race happened at 5k. A Albion kid was trying to get into our pack and I really didn't have the ability to put in a move to drop him. Right on cue, Philly and Nathaniel took the lead, put in a surge I went with and Tyler closed off the gap squeezing him out and sending him out the back door. It made me happy :)
