Whaley and I headed out to Blackwell this morning for long/hill workout. This was the first part. We went out to the prairie region and ran around there for majority of this run. My goal for hill workouts this summer is to learn how to run hills tired, so I picked up the last 10 minutes (it ended up being 1.4 miles back to the car). I was going around 5:45 pace and it felt very smooth and comfortable. I did not feel like I was trying. I plan to continue to do 8 beforehand, but build up to a 2 mile pickup for these runs+build in more hills. Whaley and I averaged 6:40s for most of the run, just having some good conversations. I had my GPS watch going, so the distance is accurate as I underestimated how far it was back to the parking lot which is why it's a little over 8.
