Shillelaugh 4 Miler in Flushing, Mi this morning. Really low key 4 miler. Wanted to try to get in one more race before Boston and this was really the only one that worked with my upcoming schedule. 32 degrees at race time with a 15mph wind out of the east. Was trying to break 21:00. Didn't wear a watch which was fine because they had no mile markers. Was by myself from the gun and the first 2 miles felt very in control (mainly because they were with the wind). The course was basically a lollipop so that meant the last 2 miles were all back into the wind. With that plus a few rolling hills from miles 2 to 3, the backhalf was challenging. Ended up winning by 3 minutes and it was overall a positive effort. A little short of my goal but really not bad given the conditions. Ended up winning some decent prizes out of this as well.
