Hornet Red-Devil. Overall an awesome day. I ran a solid time without exerting myself. I ran a controlled, smart race. We went out as a pack of Brendan, Stowers, Whaley, and I, and we hit the first mile perfect in a 5:05. Brendan and I were talking to each other as Brendan told me not to charge up the hill (Brendan deserves a great thank you for this race because he kept me under control so i didnt make a move to early and kill myself), and then on the down side i asked Steen how we were doing and he said great. Then as i ran by Newman i flashed a peace sign (as you can see i was having more fun then racing), but then the last mile i got down to business. I pulled a little away from Brendan and used the down hills to really propel myself. I went from 15th to 8th in that last mile, and even that felt very controlled. Overall it was a impressive team day, but i know we can do better. Whaley could be closer to Brendan who could be closer to me+we have an X-factor in Horn. Overall this was great way to start the season because we ran a controlled, smart, team race and hit our stradgy perfect. It's a good start, but just have to keep it rolling.
