Regionals 2016!! RPI 3rd place with tie breaker over Ithaca (ha!)
new best time at Rowan (20 seconds faster than pre-regionals) (threw up 3 times beforehand ha)
tried a similar strategy as last time...let Amy and Taryn go and pack up with the next couple girls...I was leading the pack for the most part but it felt really comfortable
Came through the mile and felt pretty good no idea how fast it was....went through 2k in 6:48.1 (5:28.4) pace and our pack was about 9 of us...at 3.7k girls were dying out and our pack broke up to 6 of us and by 5k it was really just Megan, Mary Visca and me leading....I tried to stay tough...went through 5k in 17:25ish according to some random coach (5:36.4 pace) which means my last 1k was around 5:24/25 pace but who knows...definitely was saving some in case Megan or Mary tried to make a move the last 300m but never happened...definitely a good day for me especially since I was so sick earlier this week..felt really strong today...never debated about dropping out and really felt tough on the hill (just a mound of opportunity)....20 sec behind Taryn....lets see how close I can be to her in KETUCKY!! NATIONALS here we come!
