RPI Inaugural Harvest Classic "6k" and Alumni Race (not quite full 6k but id say about 100-150m short ~30 sec short)

Had a fun time in a race for once , knowing there were no hills or like any bad footing spots 100% helped during this. Went out a lil slow the first 150m since the ground was lumpy and my ankles are already messed up, by 400m in I was in about 4th then moved up to behind michelle, went thru the 1M clock at like 5:40/41 ish and was very happy bc usually I feel like I go out "so fast" and am like 6:05 pace, took the lead at 1.5 mi in and just held it there, didn't purposely take my foot off the gas but guess I settled into my go-to road racing in-shape race pace (5:55), was expecting to still have a lap around the field to go so didnt "kick" when i prob should have, had a decent final stretch to secure the W.

even adding 30 ish sec that is still 21:37 which is much better than I was running last year (best was like mid 23s for a 6k last year) and went thru the 5k in sub 18:10 so over 70 sec faster than my 5k last weekend (i know it was a much harder course but still), hopefully a sign that things are looking up for me

Was great to see all the alumni and the depth of the current team but hated being the oldest woman in that race lol

We'll just have to get Shannon and Taylor to come back and race next year. Glad you're still crushing it. I hear you're one of those "pro runners" like Sean nowadays
