Rowan Border Clash/Inter-regional Border Battle
According to Coach Lynch it was probably the smartest race of my college career
Felt really strange...race went out and Amy went to the front and Taryn was running along side me and made the move up to Amy...I debated about going with her but I realized I'd die out bc I wasn't mentally or physically at that level yet so I held back....a nice little pack formed of like 3-4 John Hopkins girls 2 geneseo and Megan Kellogg. I hung on to this pack and we all rotated positions...I started falling off a couple times and almost made the decision to let them get away and lose contact but luckily Jake and coach told me otherwise. Our pack's Pace slowed I believe around 3-4k into the race and two girls got away (that was probably when I should have went with them)
At about 1k left I started to pick it up and moved to the front of my group and tried to hold em off last 600m (one girl got me but she deserved it as she collapsed and puked right at the line)
Good race....much closer to where I need to be for our team got a couple more places to work up to..hips were tight at about 3k and I rolled my ankle three times
13th at 2k ....2th at 3.5 ish k and 8th overall...good stuff
