Notes

New Bedford Half 10th Woman, 91st overall

Got my goal of being sub 80 and didnt hurt my foot so that was a plus

Got a side stitch early on and thought of dropping out, even drifting to the mile marker sign to walk off the course but changed my mind since my coach told me before the race "if you drop out there is no where to go so youd just have to run back anyway" and the fact that this happened last year and it eventually went away....the shoes felt so good on the downhill and wanted to rip but cramp held me back those miles....eventually it went away at like mile 7/8 ish, drank a lil water and that helped but decided against the gel

Pace felt so easy for most of the race and then the wind along the water towards the end made it tough...was no one to tuck into and just couldnt seem to run fast ... last year I also slowed on this part, got to the hill and "quickly jogged" to the top, my teammate passed me right around here along with another girl and I wanted to go but didnt

Kept going back and forth about giving up on the sub 80 and praying I'd be close and that prob didnt help the pace at all, got to the turn and saw I could do it, when i could read the clock it said 19:34 and so closed the last 100m to squeak under. my teammate had me by like 18 sec all from that last mile

those last three miles probably cost me like 40 sec so I know sub 79 is definitely doable....Jack Daniels converts this to a 2:47 marathon so hopefully my boston goal of 2:50 is doable
