Notes
Met this guy Nathan a month or so back when Matt and I were doing 5k TTs on the track and so he reached out to Matt to invite him (and me by default) to some "races" he was hosting...this was the 2nd one, a 2 mile around Lake Q so we decided to go
Was Matt and I and Nathan and 3 other people (only 1 other of whom finished the race)
Race started and was slightly downhill and with the wind and had Matt leading so went out HOT
was Matt, then Nathan, then me, then Dave all about 10-15 sec from one another
second mile was a cross breeze that changed into a headwind and then finished on a slight incline which that along with starting out too fast killed my pace
Mile 1: 5:15
Mile 2: 5:34
2 Mile Time: ~10:50 (ran to where Matt finished which was slightly over 2 miles (2.02) from my watch)
Impressed with this considering I havent run anything fast since indoor...fastest 1 mile on my GPS watch and considering it was like 87 degrees out and was running at Noon when the sun was high in the sky
Has me wondering what my outdoor season might have looked like if it happened or even what my cross season could be if it is allowed to happen
