Watching Grant and Ben race got us so pumped we almost forgot to go to the starting line...we still had all our warm-up clothes on when we realized everyone was on the line already so that was fun...wished the ppl next to me goodluck and was ignored lol

Really had like 2 different races plans going into the race based on how the pace went...Saw that Amy was going fast so I decided on plan A which was stick with her for first 3k...I stayed behind her on the outside shoulder because otherwise I felt too claustrophobic. The first mile felt super easy to the point where if I hadn't know my pace I'd of thought I was tempo ing. Running behind someone really makes running much easier and requires a lot less thinking. There were a couple times in the beginning that I wanted to go around her but I knew that would be dumb...

Got to the 3k at just about 10 flat (faster than my first 3k at Ithaca) and made the mistake of looking at the clock...I knew in my head I had accomplished my race plan and that was when I started to lose focus...I started to feel the tightness in my calves and knew I still had five laps to go...Amy started running low 79s and I was running high 80s. Closed the gap a little last lap but wasn't even close. she had me by 6 seconds. I know I could have held on a least another 2 laps but I hadn't planned to do that just wanted to finish.

For my first ever track 5k...I was more than happy. Definitely felt longer than a 3k but not too bad, did much better than I ever would have expected, hopefully proved the doubters wrong. Guess I am cut out for this LD stuff.
