Notes
After having gone for a pretty tough hike this morning (about 5 miles round trip, but with serious elevation change and a stunning view of the lake and surrounding area from the top) I had been considering just taking the day off, but I convinced myself to get out for a bit before dinner and I'm really glad that I did. I decided to explore one of the side roads going off of Rt. 9 this evening, so I chose Flat Rock Rd which was just by the campground and it turned out to be a pretty serious hill that then opened up to some great views of the mountains and the lake which was a pleasant surprise. On the way back I needed to take a pit stop for a few minutes (...), and afterwards found that somehow I was feeling remarkably good all of a sudden. Hills felt easy, and flats felt really strong. Not sure what caused that feeling but it was really great and made the whole rest of the run very enjoyable.
