First time back on the track, trying to balance some good continuing work while not pushing so hard to exhaust the legs ahead of this weekend's race in Chap. This was a good one, with an extended piece to open up and then some shorter reps to get the legs moving a little quicker. I was surprised, in a way, that the track pieces weren't so different from the 1k's I did last week on the road, but they felt quite smooth and I was never really laboring. The track was also quite wet, so even when running in Lane 2 to avoid the puddles I could feel the feet slipping slightly on each step -- so wondering if that's not worth a second or two per lap. All in all good to move quicker, and looking forward to really focusing in on recovery for the next few days up to the weekend.
