My long run this afternoon was, in stark contrast to last week, one of the best I've ever had. I did a long loop from Koerner Hill which had a major climb in the first 5 miles or so, and then the rest was fairly moderate. As the splits show, I maintained a very solid pace for the run, doing sub-6:30 miles even for some of the last few miles and without any descents. I felt very good for the whole thing, though I did start to get a rather thirsty about half way through. I had an energy gel at the 11 mile marker which I think helped as well, but overall my legs felt very good even after having done a workout yesterday. Still not sure if this is the tart cherry juice that I started having or if I'm just having a good couple of days, but this was a great run with some stunning views that I really enjoyed.
