Notes
Conditions:
July day in September…hot and humid start at 91 degrees…sun an cloud mix then a storm rolls in…felt first raindrops with ¼ mile to go until the finish then with 1/10 mile to go a downpour…felt nice and refreshing though…temp dropped to 71 by finish
The Run:
Started unsure how far I was going to run…at least 8 miles was the plan but I was feeling 10…ran around the scenic road over to merkle with side trail action…did the farm field loop with sides…skies turned ominous so the decision was made for me to cut run at 8 miles…
Wildlife:
Saw some deer up close…a big doe…and some scattered out in the fields…a helicopter flew low over the trails on the merkle hill…no one else around today
Random Notes:
Not getting enough sleep this week and a hectic day on campus had me a bit sluggish but still looking forward to a run…did not disappoint…race thoughts swirled around my head as well as how I can get close to 40 miles this week after taking off Monday-Wednesday
