Notes

recovery run/workout...rain showers hit the area just before starting my run...ran the St. Thomas Church Road trail up to St. Thomas Church Road...ran a half mile or so up the road and continued back on the trail...took enough walk breaks and ran hard at times to get the mileage up...legs a bit sore...especially my calves...trail was soggy and almost impassable in places...coming back on the approach to the creek crossing I literally slid down on the slope...sort of a run/ski manuever...I had to grab a small tree branch to slow down and stay in control...there is a new (at least my first time seeing it) bridge that crosses the creek and heads uphill to the farm area of this trail...I didn't notice it on the way out until I had crossed and was going up the hill...I took the bridge on the way back...ran in my new North Face shoes for the first time to break them in, and they got quite muddy on this run...nice since I hate new looking stuff...the deer flies were out and attacking...but they weren't as bad as they've been in the past...a nice breeze was welcome as it kept the temps down...felt OK...
